;D I might make this a tradition, using song titles and/or lyrics for my entry title....(by Muse, by the way. You probably could've guessed that, but whatever. Great song, go check it out)
So this last week was pretty amazing. Only 3 days of actual school, because of Memorial Day and Senior Projects on Friday (they recommended that Juniors go so we can see what to do for next year, but I didn't...the span of its benefits wasn't very dependable either; I'm hoping to do something more artistic, and there were some rooms that were almost exclusively engineering stuff. So it's not like I'd be vastly better off.). Those couple days were hectic, though...lots of end of the year stuff I'm participating in because of me being a Junior with a good GPA... *shrug* I just hope I don't miss out on anything with friends while I'm doing all that honorary stuff.... xD wonderful priorities, eh?
Wednesday was the forever-planned poetry reading night for Speech and Debate. We invited the entire school staff, but about 2 teachers showed up besides our coaches. But anyway. Really fun stuff. We all wrote haikus, some of which were really funny...my friend's dad wrote one about how he wanted to go home, but ripped it up. I went all James Bond on him and put the pieces back together and deciphered his message. xD I also recited "Vincent" by Tim Burton, which was really cool considering 1, it's a longer poem and I memorized it, 2, I didn't stutter or shake like a bald chihuahua in December, and 3, I didn't projectile vomit on the people in the first row. Pretty exciting stuff right there. ;D I found out later that my friend's dad is working with Vincent Price's daughter on a comic. That's epic, folks.
Anyway. Thursday was 90's day. Fun stuff. I dedicated myself to the grunge look, complete with tangly hair, scrunchy socks, neon rainbow shoelaces (vintage 90s too, I don't know how long we've had those things...), cheap plastic sunglasses, and, of course, plaid flannel. And let me tell you, while I looked homeless, there is a reason that trend caught on: comfort. I was a cozy little ratty-lookin' thing.
Thursday was also the day I went to see the choir concert. It was really magnificent...50's themed, which I loved (despite the stuffy old ushers glaring at my snuggly flannel dishevelment)...except for the Elvis impersonater. The one that wasn't singing like Elvis because he was in the choir. From what I could tell, he was the husband of some choir booster mom or something who happened to own large sideburns and a white jumpsuit. He wasn't on the program, so I wouldn't be surprised if he just stumbled on stage, spur of the moment. But my God, he was pretty painful to watch. He sang for maybe half an hour straight, at least, and by the way he was acting, he either was drunk, had dentures, or both.
And yeah. Friday was the Homer's awards; it's this huge, like, reuniting of every cast from every play this year. Not the greatest turn out, possibly because it conflicted with the second choir concert and about half the people who are in plays do choir. It was alright though. We're all such OCD dorks in the theatre department, it really provides for a good party. I also got forced into swing dancing, but I got a picture of my awesome friend doing his creepy smile that really reminds me of the Crypt Keeper from that old Nickelodeon show, Tales From the Crypt.
Yesterday was probably the most amazing of all....because yesterday was our school's Prom! So...I went roller blading!! My friends and I held a de-prom, complete with multicultural (and multi-odored...stuffed mushrooms are pungeant...) pot luck, a trip to a roller blading rink/arcade, then Coco's (still don't trust the place...they fumigated and then were open for lunch.), then back home to my friend's chocolate fountain and endless supply of DVD's (and cost us maybe 1/15 the price of a single prom ticket.). Except her tv was being weird, we're thinking there was some electricity spike or something...*shrug*. But I saw Juno. Really cute, obscure movie, and I love the dry humor and all the phrases. Great stuff, definitely Oscar-worthy. We also began to watch Interview With a Vampire and 13 Going on 30, but Interview made me cringe because of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and the countless gross inaccuracies in the first 3 minutes alone, and I was exhausted about half way through 13 Going on 30.
And now....only one real week left of school!! Summer....is so close, yet so far. Hence, the reason for the title...this waiting is making me squirm. We've got some cool things coming up though, a project for history where we have to find a song with a social issue in it and pretty much discuss the issue and how it can be improved (kind of worried, I haven't heard back from my group about my suggestions...but these people I'm working with are vastly more dependable and awesome than my pinata group.), possibly karaoke in the same class (my friend and I have been planning a Tenacious D Tribute for APUSH for about a semester now), making ice cream in physics, discussing music with my physics teacher (she's going to see Boston soon, a band my dad and I love, and I gave her a copy of Black Holes and Revelations by Muse...because we learned about black holes...), and....there goes my attention span.
(again, this thing is being stupid with my pictures. Sorry for the solid wall of text.)
In other news...HELLBOY II IS COMING OUT SOON!!!!! Sometime next month! EXCITEMENT! Yeah...that poster's from the first movie...but that's amazing too. Go watch it. And I know this picture's having issues....click on it, then go back here and it should show up.
Agh...I guess my stream-of-thought, hardly-edited blogging must end. *heaves big sigh* Off to do homework, I suppose.....stupid Catcher in the Rye and its reflective essay....and my teacher's neglecting to really teach us the criteria.....*grumbles*
Until next post!
Luv!

PS--check out the new profile pic! Those be mah feets. Hopefully the picture will show up better on your comp than mine, this moniter has problems with making things too dark....
