Lips are Turning Blue, A Starlight in the Gloom

Lots of reasons for this title. ;D I get to that in a minute. ^^

First....something that has been AMAZING FACT for quite a while but when it actually happened I was frankly exhausted and I've been kind of angry at the world ( xD ) these last couple posts: I AM NOW A WATER SKIER. That's right. After maybe two years of barely lifting myself up and shortly afterwards falling (you have no idea how solid water can be at high speeds... >.> I face-planted myself a few times), the last time I went on the lake maybe last month, I got up, stayed up, and had a blast. A family friend, who was driving the boat, told me he had expected to go around the entire lake. Probably an exaggeration, but that's still better than, like, him saying we'd finally get out of the little 50-foot radius we perpetually had because of my failures eventually. ^^" Your arms get really tired after either succeeding or failing though, so I could barely lift myself out of the water when I was done. Worth it, though.

And now...some more Spanish woes. The guy that said he'd pick up Jorge didn't, and said to me on Tuesday (I was gone all day Monday...I'll get into that later too) that he lost the info to my house and my phone number and all that. Except, he knows my friends. He knows how to contact my friends, and if he had any brains at all he would have bothered to ask someone. Or at least look in the phone book, it's not like my last name is common. And then he said he was kicked out of the house for the weekend. I'm not really buying that.

So when he saw Jorge, he said he looked done. Okay, so now he went from being all disappointed or whatever that he didn't have any part in making it, to desperately trying to get out of his responsibilities because of laziness. I told him what he needed to do to complete Jorge and make him look all nice, and so what does he do? Wads up more paper, sticks that to the front of Jorge's mask, and slapped a sheet of green and blue to the back of his head. Bravo. We could've turned it in two weeks ago if that was all we were going to do with it. Our teacher said he had too much white on him and needed color, but still. It looked awful. We got a pretty good grade on it at least, so she was merciful compared to how I would've graded it, but yeah. At least it's over.

So on Monday....I went on a physics field trip to Magic Mountain!! My first experience with huge roller coasters. I'm serious; I get motion sickness pretty easily if I don't watch out, so my parents have been really careful about what I've ridden at theme parks, but I rode a bunch of stuff with loops and dips and turns, and it was AMAZING. Let's see...we rode Tatsue, Viper, Roaring Rapids (I couldn't have gotten more wet if I actually jumped into the water. I'm glad I thought ahead and put my valubles in plastic baggies, my friend's cell was weird for the rest of the day), Batman (Gotham City is pretty awesome. Especially if you're like me and have been raised with those crappy old comic-based tv shows), and Revolution. The only things I refused to go on were Superman and Goliath. The first, because I don't like those rides where all you do is go up and fall. Goliath, because I have known too many people who've blacked out on it, and it was right after lunch. xD

So this past week was pretty amazing. We had these projects in APUSH to study social culture and media and stuff of the 1950s through 80s (we're doing the 90s, but it's going to be Wednesday and Thursday next week), and we get extra credit if we dress up for all of them. And so I did. My own project was on 1950s teen fads and trends, and I'm kind of glad I got it out of the way soon so I could enjoy the rest of it. So last week I dressed like something you'd see at a sock hop, mod (think Twiggy), hippie, and Madonna. I pulled the 80's one off a little too well, especially the huge, moose/hairspray-tastic, ratty hair. That scared me a bit....

And finally...THE PIECE DE RESISTANCE (<--how to tell if this blogger doesn't take French...). The Stephenie Meyer signing! It was yesterday!! It's really amazing seeing all these people you've never met, and being able to talk to them so casually because of a book you both like. So one of my fanatic friends and I came really early--about three hours before Stephenie was scheduled to speak, but the people at the front of the line had been there since 10 am. I personally wouldn't have been able to stand waiting there for that long, but kudos for them. My other friends came late, because of ride complications, but I ended up discovering the real name of a friend of mine from Spanish. It was kind of funny, we were mixing ourselves up with our real and fake names and all that. My friend took pictures of just about every Twilight/The Host-themed shirt in the building, and posted them on her Photobucket. I'll put some choice ones here...and so yeah. While we were waiting, I saw Poway's French teacher (kind of odd, hahah...her daughter was a fan of the books, and we talked while waiting for people to show up and go get our books signed, so it was cool.), these dolls--action figures, excuse me...--that people put on display that were supposed to represent a bunch of the main characters of Twilight, and a bunch of us played a game of guess-that-scene. Fun stuff. It's odd how I can make a fool out of myself in front of about 1,000 people I've never met, but have issues with making formal presentations to my classes....

The crowd went wild with everything Stephenie said. Here are the videos my friend took on her digital...not the greatest quality, but still pretty okay. ...I obviously still don't know how to embed. Again, if anyone can help me out with this, that will be greatly appreciated!

Before the signing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zc4EqX4cy3o I start the video off... o.o

Some pictures...

My fanatic friend, me, and my friend from Spanish. ^^

Another friend (her blog is Musing Through Life) and I show off the shirts I made. ^^ Ah! Story. I went to get my books signed, and Stephenie said she loved my shirt. (this is EPIC. Come on.) I showed her my Muse patch as well (she's the one that got me listening, and now it's my all-time favorite band, if you haven't noticed. ^^ ), and she said I should be comforted that she was a nice person, otherwise she would've ripped it off and taken it. xD We then talked about how they never tour here, or when they do, they cancel. She's seriously amazing.

I took this picture. xD On my friend's camera...I'll upload my own pictures later.

Many more pictures of the event can be seen here:

M'kay: title explanation. It's a line from Sing for Absolution by Muse. It was a huge inspiration for Stephenie Meyer while she was writing. The song comforts me. And it's been really cold lately, especially for it being late May.

So. I'm pretty sure that's it for now. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Luv!

Now, why would one go to Texas for beaches when one lives in San Diego? That's right, Cassomunist. I'm talking to you.

Because, my dear one, it was actually warm and sunny for the weekend. So there. :P

MAH! I WANTED TO GO TO THAT FRAKKING SIGNING SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA! /rant. Whew, I needed to get that out, lo siento...

It was nice to see you yesterday; I miss seeing everyone all the time. -_- Well, there's next week at the concert. That is, if I don't disintegrate and turn into a little jello blob. ...I wonder if that'd be any good, and what flavor I'd be.

Okay, rambling, I think I'm high or something. >.> Anyway, don't let teenagers get you so down, my dear. And everyone has their dark side; humans are a strange bunch.

See you soon.

Love,
Cassandra

Yeah, the Alamo was pretty epic. I love history, yay!

Oh, I forgot to mention this, too: we're driving through Forks and Port Angeles because we're spending a week in Seattle with relatives! Yay! I'm psyched. Vampire luff.

I bugged my parents so much that they finally said yes to driving through there, hahaha. I just want to get a look of it, maybe a picture of the 'welcome to...' sign.

Well, you got to actually meet her, so... I dunno, it seems like a nice trade-off. :P

Hope you're having fun at your de-prom. =)
