(what's with the title? Like I know..... >.> You get a cookie if you know it though.)
So yeah. I probably should be studying for my huge US history exam right now, but between having a loop of Beatles plus one Big Country Joe and the Fish song stuck in my head, I can't exactly concentrate. Today was a good day though. We had a history "study" session this afternoon (we went to the local lake and had a class barbecue), and it was magnificent. Between modifying a Vietnam protest song, sliding down a very, very steeply inclined grassy hill on a giant ice cube, and paddling around the lake on a little boat singing random songs, you have to say it was a pretty good day. We actually studied during class with some Jeopardy review, though, and I totally dominated the war songs section. And I broke the 3-way tie for my team and won the round for us in Final Jeopardy. Yay for knowing random crap about songs you did projects for (slash obsess over...that Big Country Joe song is too catchy...) and the Panic of 1893.... ;D
Other than that, things have been...well....interesting, I suppose you could say. (venting ensues. Be warned.) Looking back, it amazes me how much I've grown not only academically (*cough* though I'm currently suffering from Junioritis....), but socially and intelectually as well. I have found out even more who my friends are, have gotten closer to my good friends and being seriously let down by other good friends. Beyond let down. Like, finding out one of the people you're closest to is kind of a horrible person sometimes. And that another, who you already knew was screwy in the head, was irrational beyond all belief or excuse. It's all really crazy. Knowing all this will really help in the long run, though, I think.
(end of venting...)
on a happier note.....
THE TWILIGHT TEASER HAS RELEASED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111(one) (this'll probably screw up the spacing for the rest of the post, and I don't even know if this hyperlink thing will work at all. Worth a shot, I suppose.... here's the link if this fails at life, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBvOhfL4mYw)
(Edit: <--um, yeah. I didn't just randomly shout that [though that does sound rather amusing....], that was my attempt at an embedded link. Yay, me.)
and a little piece of my childhood: (if someone could show me how to embed links on this thing, it'd be much appreciated....I'm kind of a technological cripple...)

So I had my first semester college calculus exam recently (...Wednesday.... >.> ). I have no idea how I'm going to do. The multiple choice seemed okay to me, but I probably did horribly on the free response. We never even did one of the things they were asking, at least not the way I was reading it. So yeah. I'll find out in July...
Oh, and in Spanish we're making pinatas. ...I'd put the little tilda up over the n, but I'm feeling kind of lazy and doubt this thing could do it anyway. *shrug* You get the picture. So I'm making an astronaut (we named him Jorge, or however you spell it.... pronounced hor-hay...for the benefit of my reader that doesn't speak Spanish.... ;D ) with two airheads and a guy....I don't know how to describe him. He enjoys telling me about auto shop (we visited his class once in physics) and how he gets hurt all the time, and....my hair. Well, he's talked about it twice and grabbed at it once, which is three times more than I'm used to guys talking about (or....touching, for that matter...*shudder*) my hair, so that's kind of strange.
But the airheads: one, I had to explain the difference between a surrogate mother and in vitro fertilization (and then proceed to how the surrogate doesn't have sex with the dad....cue headdesk....). The other, the last project I worked on with her, she (and the rest of the group besides my friend and I) epically failed at doing her job in the group. Or doing anything for that matter, really. So, in a presentation in which I had to provide a chapter summary to my friend, I ended up also improvising a presentation with my friend's powerpoint, which she had to do all by her lonesome (which wasn't how the group dynamics were supposed to work). This girl's generous input? She clicked the slides.
But so pinatas. Jorge is kind of fat.......really fat (he's a special needs pinata...you hang him up, he breaks the string and falls to the floor).....and our teacher didn't bother telling us until this last Monday that he's probably too big to finish easily by next Monday, when it's due. So I'm dependent on the two girls to finish him over the weekend, because they offered to do so and I won't get another chance with everything going on...except Jorge wasn't half finished after I spent two hours on him after school on Tuesday. And I've been kind of the creative director of the whole thing, so I'm a bit worried. Crossing my fingers.
So this kind of turned out to be a more pessimistic post than I had planned. Maybe it's because I'm reading Catcher in the Rye....
anyway. Until next post!
Luv!

You didn't know Ballroom Blitz was the title. I failed as a teacher.
