Hold Your Head High, Heavy Heart

I've had The Academy Is... songs stuck in my head these past couple hours....if it's even gotten out of my head since I listened to their album Almost Here this morning....

So, why am I updating on a Monday? Well. I have a few interesting things worth putting here. Now stop asking questions or I'll throw you down the stairs. (....that's a line from a poem in Alice in Wonderland. No bodily harm intended.)

First, the exciting news. The song project in APUSH? Finally figured out what I'm doing for that: Before I Forget by Slipknot. We were thinking about what the lyrics could possibly mean, besides the references to evolution in the chorus, which isn't exactly prime fodder for a presentation on a social issue, really, without just preaching my opinion...but, I figured it out while listening to one group's use of Beautiful by Christina Agulera, oddly enough.... It's about a guy who is shut off and really kind of hated by the rest of society, but he's saying how he pretty much evolved like the rest of us, so he essentially shouldn't be treated any differently. So I'm making it about social cliques. I'm really excited for this now....

Now, the ultimate demonstration of my rotten luck. I walked out to where my ride was going to pick me up, going through the grass in my sandals. I saw a bee fly past in front of me, and the thought passed through my head that it would really suck if I stepped on one. Then....ow. Ow. God....freaking...OW!!! And I pick up my foot to see a fricking bee dangling from it. I've been hopping around on one foot since....

I hope the stupid thing died.
