Kabuki Masks, Tchaikovsky, Chickens, OH MY.

Hi again! So...yep. I'm posting again, the very next day. This is kind of cool, a daily post.....but will I keep up with it? Probably not...... but still. *shrug* felt like posting. ;D

So yeah. That concert yesterday went pretty well. I don't know what score we got, but I'm happy with how we did. I didn't do a really loud chord in complete silence, like once when we were practicing, haha. And while the bus trip is always something I look forward to, it's also something I dread. Why? In the three years that I've gone to El Camino, at least one person gets grumpy, emo, reclusive, unnecessarily short tempered, or all of the above on the trip home, every year. It's kind of ridiculous. I had a good time with one of my friends though, she had a bunch of songs on her cell phone we listened to, everything from Juke Box Hero to Super Chicken (my parents sing this one all the time, it's great), Spiderman (the old theme from the cartoon show), and the Time Warp. (that one was hard to dance to in our seats, what with the jumping and pelvic thrusting. xD )

The RB orchestra played Tchaikovsky, I heard...1812 Overture.....I was jealous until I remembered the only exciting part happens in the last 3 minutes of the 15 minute song.....and there were no cannons. Had I known what they were playing, though, they would've had a V running across the stage in....a dress and heels.....with firecrackers. (I would've been tempted at least......)

To contrast that, Big MT is turning me into a maggot. (AKA a Slipknot fan, he has a whole explanation. xD ) The more I listen to it, the more I'm interested. I remember seeing an interview clip with all 9 of them, years ago...I can't remember what the show was about (it was a bunch of bands interviewed for a Vh1 special or something), just that the lead singer (haven't quite memorized their names yet, lol) was in his grueseome stitched-up and rotting mask and talking about how twisted kids from Iowa get from not having anything to do. For some reason my mind is linking this with 90's movie Children of the Corn, I don't know if this was the purpose of interviewing them or if that's just my mind...... >.>

And I'm suddenly compelled to draw them somehow. Sketch, doodle, take a stab at cartooning, but not painting....that's too much for my fickle attention span to handle, not to mention all the details that have to be put into it to do it right. ;D

Come on. Look at those faces. Those faces need to be drawn.

....

( hmm....maybe this could be painted.....*contemplates*)

*Gasp!* a post the very next day! I'm impressed. ^^

Wow, scary masks... I dunno, just looking at that picture gives me the heebie jeebies. I'm trying to imagine the music.... I think my favorite one is the guy with all the random spikes on his mask, though, haha.

And huzzah for El Cam bus ride reflections. =)

May Slipknot live long and prosper for years to come. I can name them from left to right!

Mick Thomson, Shawn "Clown" Crahan, Paul Gray, Corey Taylor, Craig Jones (the one with all the random spikes on his mask), Joey Jordison, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, Jim Root.

HA.
