Catching up.

o.o Wow, it's been longer than I thought...how time flies when you forget you have a journal to make a few mental purgings in...

....and how it seems you've done nothing to talk about these last, what, four months? Something like that....

Ah, well. My friends were threatening to hack into my account if I didn't start posting again (this threat was actually made in August...). So...let's start with movies...
1408: It's a good movie for a couple laughs, not exactly the best in horror, but, being the spawn of Steven King's mind, it has some psychological trippiness. It was actually a bit overwhelming when I saw it in theaters, but this has only been my second thriller seen all the way through...the first, "Skeleton Key," could hardly have been called a thriller to begin with. I actually saw the first...maybe half hour of what my friends and I call the "Chexas Tainsaw Massacre" (don't you love verbal dyslexia?) yesterday on Spike...maybe it was because I was watching an edited-for-tv version, but it was ridiculous. The first kill the big scary hunchback man in stained scrubs made, he scurried up behind the victim like a Loony Toon and nailed an axe to his back....and of course his lair has to be filmed with the green camera filter, to give it that "creepy" glow and make the contrasting red of blood stand out. True story my......but enough of that.

Stardust was very entertaining, especially the goat man played by the very same Mr. Arthur Weasley. It strayed far from Neil Gayman's original, however, so don't be expecting a carbon copy of his work. The outcome, however, remained strong in itself.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Don't buy it. Just don't. If you can, rent it for cheap but don't expect much. The most entertaining part was Stan Lee's usual cameo, and perhaps laughing at the writers' feeble attempts to make a good joke. I kept waiting for the "Fantasticar" to turn into a giant person-shaped robot....the plotholes were ridiculous too. When the Human Torch is having some difficulties with his powers, he couldn't touch another of the Four without switching powers with them...of course, when this ended up happening with the other two guys on the team, all they got was a few burns here and there. When it happened to the Invisible Woman, of course her clothes burn off and she flies around naked for maybe five minutes. I wonder who the target audience was.....

Spiderman 3 On a rather happier note, Stan Lee went right somewhere. This movie was amazing, and I'm personally going out to buy it straightaway next Tuesday, when it comes out.

I think that's all the movies for now.....hmm....what else...? Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer, the latest in the Twilight series, was amazing, go and read it....Muse proves to be an even more amazing band than before, I now have all their albums plus an import of B sides and a live cd (Hullaballoo Soundtrack.....I love that word, hullaballoo.....). The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galexy by Douglas Adams is really a classic, I think I'm going to memorize a few excerpts for a speech....oh, and I can't wait for Doctor Who series 4. Rose needs to come back though, the show isn't the same without her. But I know that isn't possible......*sulks in corner*

I'm currently reading Deep Secret by Diana Wynne Jones, I'm already hooked even though I'm probably not yet to page 30 and need to take a break from it to read some books on female soldiers who fought in the Civil War for a history thing....one of the books is They Fought Like Demons, if you've heard of any of that.....I've recently finished Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher....the only moral I really got out of it was...
1. Never inbreed and
2. I have no idea what was going on in that insane square-shaped head of his....

And I've now run out of things to talk about. In conclusion, I sold my soul for a can of tuna.

Luck and hope to all those affected by the fires in California.
